A previous article listed several websites that feature free streaming anime episodes, from licensing companies like FUNimation Entertainment and VIZ Media to well-known video streaming hubs like Hulu and Crunchyroll. But streaming videos is becoming a popular way of viewing favorite shows, and there are always other companies prepared to offer the service. The following websites provide a variety of anime series and movies for fans to watch. All these websites provide the anime for free, thus allowing fans to avoid illegal fansubs without dishing out any cash.
Media Blasters: Ah! My Goddess, Ikki Tousen
Following the example of other anime licensing companies, Media Blasters began streaming first episodes of some of its anime series last May. Series currently available include Ah! My Goddess, Queen's Blade, Ikki Tousen and Kanokon: The Girl Who Cried Fox. The company has also promised that they will be streaming the classic magical girl anime Magic Knight Rayearth sometime in the future.
Manga Entertainment: Naruto, Blood the Last Vampire
Manga Entertainment, another anime licensing and distribution company, also has a video streaming section on their website, Manga.com. The company offers streams of many of it's own anime shows and movies, like Blood the Last Vampire and the Street Fighter anime films, along with anime the company distributes like the mecha show Gurren Lagann.
Manga Entertainment also streams episodes of anime licensed by other companies, like VIZ Media's Naruto and Bleach, and FUNimation Entertainment's Big Windup! and Shuffle.
4kids TV: Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magical Do-Re-Mi
4kids TV is well known for its children's shows and the company's Saturday morning block of cartoons on the CW network. 4kids has also licensed several anime series over the years, and now many of them can be viewed for free on their website alongside other cartoons.
The original Yu-Gi-Oh anime, which first aired on American television in 2001, is available on the 4kids TV website, along with the sequel anime series Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and Yu-Gi-Oh 5 Ds. Also available are episodes of Magical Do-Re-Mi, Sonic X and Dinosaur King.
Adult Swim: Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
4kids TV is great for the kids or for anime fans that are young at heart, but those looking for more grown up anime can turn to Adult Swim network's website.
Anime available on the website often depends on what's currently airing on Adult Swim's TV schedule. Currently, this includes Kekkaishi, Cowboy Bebop, The Big O, Ghost in the Shell, and both the original Fullmetal Alchemist anime and the new series, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. FMA: Brotherhood is also available on FUNimation Entertainment' s streaming site, but with only the first four have an English dub option. The Adult Swim website provides all episodes that have aired on television with the English track.
